# Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the AceLand licensing system collects, why, and how it's handled. It covers the **paid Editor tier**, the **Discord support** bot, and the **GitHub Sponsors** binding.

### What We Collect

#### About the Machine Id

The machine id is a **hash** derived from your device — it is used to count and manage seats. It is not your name, and it is not used to track you across the web.

### How It's Used

* **License enforcement** — verifying entitlement and counting seats (up to your subscription tier's limit).
* **Support roles** — assigning/removing the Discord supporter role based on subscription status.
* **Sponsor recognition** — assigning the honorary Sponsors role to a linked Discord account.
* **Transactional email** — sending your license key and essential account notices.

We do **not** sell your data, and we do **not** use it for advertising.

### Where It's Stored

* **License, seat, subscription, Discord, and sponsor records** are stored in **Google Firebase (Firestore)**, hosted in the **Singapore (asia-southeast1)** region.
* Access is limited to backend Cloud Functions; there is no public client access to the database.

Your data is shared only with the services required to operate the system:

### Data Retention

* License and subscription records are kept while your account/subscription exists and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting and support.
* You can request deletion of your data (subject to legal/accounting obligations) — see below.

### Your Choices

* **Release seats** anytime via Discord (`/license release`) — this deletes that machine's seat record.
* **Cancel** your subscription anytime from Gumroad → Library → Manage membership.
* **Unlink** a sponsor role by stopping your sponsorship; the honorary role is removed automatically.
